Coco Elan FAQs
Antiperspirants contain aluminum to help prevent sweating by blocking your sweat glands. They may also contain a fragrance to mask odor. Deodorants may contain fragrance too, but they do not contain aluminum. This allows your body’s natural response to sweat for body temperature control. Look for deodorants with powders like tapioca starch to help absorb sweat so you don’t feel as wet.
Coco Elan was designed to provide effective odor control for up to 24 hours with regular application. We included five key ingredients (Coconut Oil, Zinc Ricinoleate, Magnesium Hydroxide, Tapioca Starch, and Sodium Bicarbonate) to protect against odor—best effectiveness when used on clean, hair-free skin.
Yes, our deodorant contains a small and safe amount of baking soda. While some brands promote avoiding baking soda due to potential skin irritation, we carefully formulate our products to balance effectiveness and gentleness. Baking soda is a powerful natural ingredient that helps neutralize odor. For those with sensitive skin, we recommend patch testing the deodorant on a small area before full application to ensure compatibility.

Some people experience a detox period when switching from antiperspirants to natural deodorants, during which they may notice increased odor or sweating. This adjustment period typically lasts a few days to a few weeks. Try our Activated Charcoal & Tea Tree Soap to help with transitioning to natural deodorants. It has anti-inflammatory properties, helps to detox pores from impurities, and reduces odor.

Apply deodorant to clean, dry skin. Use your fingers to massage the product in. Allow it to absorb before dressing to prevent staining clothing.

At Coco Elan, we take pride in providing “ah-mazing” products by selecting suppliers carefully with a shared value of high-quality ingredients. Our deodorant bars and soaps are scented with a small percentage of fragrance oil used within the manufacturer’s skin-safe recommendations. We suggest performing a patch test before regular use to ensure compatibility. If the area becomes red, itchy, or otherwise irritated, wash the area well with a non-fragrant soap and/or water and discontinue use.
